KDA1 Tool Steel
- KDA1 (H-13 Premium) is an air hardening (hot work) tool steel containing 5% Chromium making it an excellent choice for hot work applications, and is also manufactured to meet the demands of the die casting industry.
- KDA1 (H-13 Premium) is used in long production runs offering high toughness and resistance to thermal fatigue. KDA1 is a very clean material with high thermal properties.
- KDA1 (H-13 Premium) has a machinability rating of 65% to 70% of standard H-13.
- KDA1 (H-13 Premium) is sold in the annealed condition. Typical annealed hardness is BHN 192/235.
- KDA1 (H-13 Premium) maximum working hardness is BHN 525 HRc 53.

KD11 S Tool Steel
- KD11S is a premium grade air hardening tool steel.
- KD11S is a refined processed material making it a cleaner material than standard D-2.
- KD11S is capable of machining 150% of carbon tool steel and has a cutting tool life more than twice when compared to standard D-2 tool steel.
- KD11S is superior to standard 0-2 tool steel and offers the same levels of abrasion, wear resistance and fatigue properties.
- KD11S is sold in the annealed condition, typical annealed hardness is BHN 253 HRB 98.
- KD11S maximum hardness is BHN 670 HRc 61 and can be heat treated the same as standard D-2.
- KD11S incapable of meeting ASTM-A681.
